Clinical Educator | Speech-Language Pathologist | Professional Learning Designer

I'm a speech-language pathologist, clinical educator, and doctoral student passionate about helping clinicians, educators, and organizations translate evidence into meaningful practice. For more than 15 years, my work has focused on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), assistive technology, language and literacy, and designing learning experiences that improve communication access for children with complex communication needs.

MY JOURNEY

From Clinical Practice to

Clinical Education

My career has taken me from direct therapy in schools and private practice to designing and delivering professional learning for clinicians and educators. Along the way, II discovered that improving communication outcomes requires more than clinical expertise. It requires helping others feel confident translating evidence into meaningful practice.

Working alongside children with complex communication needs, families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams has shaped both my clinical expertise and my approach to teaching. Whether supporting AAC implementation in classrooms, mentoring graduate clinicians, or leading professional learning, I've seen that lasting change happens when learning is practical, collaborative, and connected to the realities of everyday practice.

That realization inspired me to pursue a Doctor of Speech-Language Pathology degree. Today, my clinical and scholarly experiences shape every aspect of my work, from clinical education and professional learning to consultation and scholarship, all with the goal of expanding communication access.

My purpose is simple: to help professionals turn evidence into meaningful, equitable practice.

Effective teaching is measured not only by what learners know, but by what they continue to do because of what they have learned.

Beyond the Credentials

Outside of work, life is a mix of Houston traffic, carpools, podcasts, time with my kids, and the occasional quiet moment with a good book and a Diet Dr Pepper. Those everyday moments remind me that learning doesn't only happen in classroom, it happens through curiosity, reflection, and the good people we spend our time with. That perspective continues to shape both my professional work and the way I approach teaching.
