Services for Individuals

  • Everyone deserves to be heard and understood. Communication is the key that unlocks doors to education, literacy, a fulfilling social life, and a rewarding career. Speech therapy is a powerful step towards ensuring equitable opportunities for all individuals.

Here, we believe in building a strong foundation. Our approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, with a special passion for utilizing core vocabulary strategies to build strong language skills and support literacy development.

Together, we can empower the little communicator in your life! We’re dedicated to working collaboratively with you and your child to unlock their full potential and help them (and you!) find their voice in the world.

Our services are provided in-home or at your child’s school (campus permitting). We offer services on a private pay basis, with superbills available for insurance reimbursement for qualified services.

  • Is your child's communication development a concern? We offer comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech and language disorders in children. These assessments guide treatment decisions, including setting goals and recommending the best therapeutic tools and services for your child's specific needs.

A speech-language pathologist (SLP) uses a combination of methods to assess your child's communication skills. This includes standardized tests, interviews with caregivers, play-based observations, and language sampling to create a complete picture and provide an accurate diagnosis for effective treatment planning.

  • If your child has received a speech and language evaluation from a licensed speech-language pathologist within the past 6 months, we offer a streamlined consultation and evaluation to develop a treatment plan. This service includes a review and summary of the existing evaluation, an in-person clinical interview, and a communication sample. It does not include standardized testing and is intended as an alternative to a full evaluation when recent assessment data is already available.

  • AAC refers to a broad range of tools and strategies designed to supplement or replace spoken language. These may include picture symbols, core vocabulary boards, low-tech communication books, or high-tech speech-generating devices and apps with robust language systems. AAC empowers individuals to communicate more effectively and participate more fully in daily life.

This comprehensive evaluation includes both a full speech and language evaluation and a detailed Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) assessment. The goal is to gain a clear understanding of your child’s communication strengths and needs and to determine the most effective supports and tools for supporting communication across their daily environments.

To ensure a thorough and individualized assessment, we integrate the SETT Framework into the evaluation process in addition to other assessment tools and frameworks. The SETT framework guides us in considering your child’s unique abilities and needs (Student) across the environments where communication occurs (Environment), such as home, school, and community settings. We analyze the specific communication demands in each setting (Tasks) and identify potential solutions (Tools) that may support your child’s communication goals. These tools can range from lite-tech to high-tech AAC systems, all tailored to your child’s strengths, needs, and daily routines. This comprehensive assessment helps us identify both foundational speech and language skills and determine the most appropriate AAC supports, leading to a well-rounded communication intervention plan.

  • We offer a comprehensive evaluation service specifically designed to support school districts in making informed decisions about speech-language and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) needs for students.

More than Communication: Our unique approach goes beyond traditional speech assessments. We consider the full picture, including:

To ensure effective communication in the classroom, we conduct a comprehensive assessment that considers various factors. We evaluate a student's speech and language skills, including their understanding and expression abilities. We then explore if an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) system would benefit them, and if so, which type would best suit their needs. Furthermore, we analyze the classroom environment to identify potential barriers or facilitators to communication. Finally, we assess the specific demands of different tasks and activities to determine the most appropriate assistive technology tools and supports that will empower the student to actively participate and thrive in their learning journey.

Benefits for Your School District: Our comprehensive evaluations provide a clear picture of a student's communication needs, informing eligibility decisions for speech-language and AAC services. This data then allows for the development of targeted intervention strategies that address individual strengths and weaknesses across different contexts. Ultimately, by removing communication barriers and providing the right tools, we empower students to fully engage in the learning process and achieve improved learning outcomes.

  • We provide direct speech and language therapy services to children with complex communication needs. This includes using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and core vocabulary strategies to help them develop functional communication skills that they can use in the classroom.

  • A dedicated liaison acts as a bridge between your district and families, ensuring clear and consistent communication about the student's communication and AAC systems needs. They are a valuable resource during IEP meetings, readily available to answer questions on speech and language development and AAC, fostering a collaborative environment when planning for student success.

We are pleased to offer our trainings and workshops to districts beyond the Houston region as well. To ensure we can offer the most relevant support, please complete the service request form below so we can learn about your district's specific needs and provide a customized fee schedule.
